On page 3-16, the topic is "changing from 2H to 4H" - Its states "Do not shift the transfer lever without depressing the accelerator pedal" EHH????
It also goes on to say that the locking air hubs cannot be activated if the vehicle is slowing down, but then says it can be done at standstill. EHH?
Any help would be appreciated.

Where are you seeing this?:
"It also goes on to say that the locking air hubs cannot be activated if the vehicle is slowing down, but then says it can be done at standstill."
Full marks to you for reading the manual, by the way.

Hhaha, thanks Steve. All this is on page - 3-16.
It makes me laugh, because next to most this 4H to 4L thing, there are warnings saying "FAILURE TO FOLLOW WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS MALFUNCTION" Intimidating bloody manual so it is
Ok, the manual actually says this; " The air locking hubs are activated by the vacuum of the engine and changed to shift the front wheel drive. The air locking hubs are not shifted when the engine is stopping" / - So are they saying that decelerating will not activate the air hubs? Hence there instruction to be accelerating??
Mhhhhhh Pondering's..........
Steve.

Ah! Now, I read that as saying that the engine needs to be running for the air hubs to operate.
I think that it should read "The air locking hubs are not shifted when the engine is stopped"
Steve.
