Evening as in the title I have a king pin bearing fail I'm quite happy to do it myself but Is it false economy to change the bearings and not the pins it seems daft not to change them but would save penny's if I didnt?

Never bothered with the pins themselves unless they are broken

There's no wear on the king pins so no need to change them. Some people sell kits including them but I think it's just to get a bit more money off you.

I replaced my nearside king pin bearings and half shaft seal in November to get it through the MOT, which it did.
The king pins where fine but the mistake i made was not buying the correct seal and it now leaks like a sieve.
I have the correct seals ordered and on their way (i hope) from the Big Jimny store.
