Customised winch bumper and roll cage
235/85R16 Maxxis Bighorns on 16" Rims, 4:1 Rocklobster, Rear ARB locker and on-board air
Corrected arms all-round, rear disks, Recaro seats and harnesses
Passed MOT! was created by mlines
Annual test day today, passed ok!
Few "minors"
Two bulbs, which were working last night, were dead. Swift bash sorted them.
Both rear wheel bearings have slight play (new last year, only 600 miles on-road driven, no off-road)
Panhard bushes showing slight play
Brake hose contacts body occasionally
Steering box needs slack removing.
Winch electric cables insecure (rubbing radiator mount)
So some new panhard bushes on order. Some cable tying needed on the brake hose and winch power
Leave the wheel bearings a little bit longer (after a possible off-road trip over Christmas)

Nice to have for another 12 months.
I would forget about the rear bearings till the next mot unless you think its an issue.
MOTs advisory comments are just a way of covering the MOT testers a"se these days i.e If in any doubt put it down in writing.
Have a tiger 800 motorbike which had an advisory on the front tyre (crazing or similar) one year, next year it was square profile on rear tyre, last year it passed no advisories. Thing is its still on the same tyres and I take it to the same MOT station, figure that out
Hoping our first MOT with our Jimny will be a good one. Does not drive like anything is wrong, so looking for a 1st time pass. Jan the 7th is d day.

My relationship with my MOT station is good. He tends to offer advisories on the understanding I will fix them rather than fail the car.
For the rear wheel bearing it was a "keep an eye" on them advice so thats fine.
Last year he said he didnt want to see the tyres that were on it at the time ever again. They were date stamped in 2005 and had lots of flint cuts and sidewall perishing. So it was a fair call and new boots were ordered.

I see several people struggle with rear wheel bearings..
If you used it only onroad, i really dont understand what can kill them that quickly? Any thoughts?
