If that's what you need to do to keep your mind at rest then go for it! Maybe you could try some of the cheap bearings and see if they fair any worse? I'm going to fit some but with the mileage I do in the Jimny these days I might not find out for a few years if they are any good.

you know what my truck's like
.... mild mods - 2 inch suspension lift with -30 offset rims and ATs

18 months with no off-roading and only 8000 miles

one was in several bits

weird thing is that I had no death wobble as they were shimmed and a steering damper was fitted, the only clue was a slight loose feeling along oil on my parking spot - the seals had gone.

;)

Guy's, with regards to the kingpin and bearing replacement, how long does it normally take to do each side?

I've watched Martins excellent video many times and I'm very confident of doing the job as I have all the tools (including the levering screwdriver and the 1" socket) :)

Wow! That quick. So for a kingpin virgin I should allow 3 hours per side. I'm just hedging my bets if the Suzuki warrantee doesn't cover the replacement of my offside KP bearings. To take the car back to where I bought it for them to do the work is a two and a half hour round trip. I have all of the parts ready to do the job from when I owned my previous Jimny.

Thanks for the info, and apologies for hijacking the tread.
