I'd take less than an hour with a big pinch of salt.

If everything goes smoothly, then yes, certainly.

If your fixings are rusted or rounded (as is the case with most older Jimnys), then it can turn into a day-long quagmire.

On a couple of times now have had to end up welding lengths of steel onto nuts in order to turn them, etc etc etc.

Nonetheless, apart from potential issues with stuck fixings it's an easy enough job.

Fair point. Mine is done often enough and with anticipation of being apart again relatively quickly so it is suitably greased, that and it isn't an old car that has never been apart. But yeah for a novice on one that has never been done an hour is really pushing it.
