It's just a push fit. It it isn't still in the clutch pedal it will come out easily.

It is definitely not connected to the pedal as I have had my hand on it but there is no way it is pulling out of the bulkhead. If I pull any harder on the cable I will tear the cable apart! When/if it stops raining tomorrow I will get my shifty scope up above the pedal to see what is what, hopefully.

Got it out finally. It was being obstructed by the sound proofing mats in the footwell. But now find that the replacement cable is 15in longer than the one I took out!. Its a Blue print ADK 83837. It also has a metal cleat on it that this car does not use. So its back in search mode!

I had the same problem and presumed the cable was for a LHD Jimny. It can be made to fit if you route it differently, but it isn't as tidy as the correct one. Works fine once installed though.

That makes sense for the LHD but all of the ones on ebay seem to be the same sort of length. The engine bay is tight for room as it is and so I would rather have the original length one if possible. The SHOP has them and so I have emailed Martin to ask him the length.

Martin replied that the ones he sells are the correct length i.e 1600mm. So the ones advertised on ebay are all for the LHD model as they are more like 2 Metres and have the cleat on them to tie it down somewhere in the engine bay. Be aware if you need one. I went to the dealer today and their parts catalogue showed my car details and had the cable listed as RHD and the picture showed it as is on the car. The price with VAT works out about the same as the shop one Martin stocks. I asked the storeman if he could show me a LHD cars parts picture but he was not very helpful!
