When we had the BigJim meet last year I was speaking to a bloke who was starting doing Jimmy stuff and reckoned he could do the ratios in standard, can't remember his name and lost the card ages ago, anyone any ideas who he was?

Already got lobster box, HD shafts and 6" lift, my thinking is lower the diff ratios, with a lower ratio would I still be able to maintain 55/ 60 on motorway? I need to actually go out and measure but I reckon the 31" remoulds I have on it were closer to 32 when I put them on.

Lift and having room for the tyres is the least thing to worry about. Such big and heavy tyres requires more power to spin and keep clean than 31". So even if you get a higher ratio in the transfer box you may not be able to keep the tyres sufficiently clean. But for a bit of pay n play and looks shouldn't be the big a problem

Also you're HD shafts, if they're with some sort of warranty. It's probably void over 31-32" tyres.

Should hopefully still be able to spin / clean them with 1.6. Thinking slightly narrower width will dig in more in deep / slippy mud. I know its also technique but find can struggle a bit on really steep muddy rutted climbs, maybe slightly wider 31s tending to not dig in so much. Hopefully get the tyres to do the job I want em too, not just looks....but guess that's part of it too eh.
Didn't mention my 1999 Jim used to be auto so the diffs are slightly lower I think, but I was thinking wouldn't need to change the diff ratios for 235s.
I got HD shafts rear not front, but ARB locker in front, so anyone recommend where to get HD 22 spline shafts / stronger CVs? Also any thoughts on bead lockers? I dropped psi down to 14 in the mud at the weekend but didn't look that aired down to me but was a bit nervous going lower.
Got remoulds on at mo, thinking Baja claws or BFG KM2s any prefs?

For non remoulds I'd go for either Km2 or maxxis trepadors. Or perhaps Silverstone mt117 extreme.

I'd imagine BFGs will be better in our Great British mud than the Baja Claws. They are also non-directional, so probably better for backing out of trouble.
