Hi, just noticed your post, I had the same problem, insurance company told me cant put a steel nudge bar on my 08 jimny. I wanted spotlights on so I purchased the bushbar, which fully complies to the EU front bumper pedestrian Law, from devon 4x4 and tweaked it to take the weight of two spots.

looks good, going to have a go at doing two mounts to go under the bonnet. going to build a roof light bar and copy the design for the front lights. how much work did you have to do to beef upthe bumpe/light bar

I didn't beef up the bumper at all. you will notice that the front bumpers on jimny's are attached to the chassis front via bolts, located on each sides of the original number plate part of the bumper. So I used these bumper mounts to hold the bushbar and the bumper together. So basically the bush bar is actually attached to the chassis front legs. If pictures would help let me know and I will take photos of where the bolts go etc.. I also used some diy door connectors bent into shape to extend from the bumper chassis bolts to the bushbar. LINK TO DOOR CONNECTORS . got them from Screwfix.com £3.99, pack of 10. Only used 2 of them. They are zinc coated so haven't rusted and the right length so no cutting down etc. So this resulted in a sturdy fixing point for the bushbar, then you just attach a number plate to the bushbar. Hope this helps.
