Yeah CAM Suzuki don't seem to answer emails and I only got a reply by phoning ( not about the gearbox)

I've done quite a bit of research on the gearbox problems and the Aussie sites are good for info.

It seems to me it's a bearing problem and once they actually let go all sorts of mayhem results.
I wonder if they started using Chinese bearings lol

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

thanks for such a detailed and informative reply, you have really told me all I needed to know, was slightly dubious about the cam Suzuki boxes,as they don't actually say what work has been done, and suspect it wouldn't be too hard to make a box that only just lasts the time of the warranty, and then fails, also the fact that they don't answer e mails as mentioned on other posts, isnt a good sign,so will probably keep the car ,change the gearbox oil,and start saving up,!!May well go for the earlier gearbox option, as some people have had the vvt box repaired ,then its failed again at a later date, makes you wonder if its a quality of parts issue,Thanks again for your help.

Are the ratios not different between the vvt and non vvt boxes? I don't know for sure but I have a feeling they are. How much it would affect the gearing I don't know.

I did say that on a post above but I'm no expert on gear ratios and how much difference it would make.
My "guess" is that it would raise the gearing on the road and possibly help cruising with lower revs but it might affect low down in 4wd.
I was considering going the whole hog and changing the engine to an M15A as well as the non VVT box so I was assuming the extra power would easily overcome any loss on the gearing although I never go off road.

I found this
Looks like the earlier box would give an overdrive??

M13A/G13bb

1- 3,652
2- 1,947
3- 1,423
4- 1
5- 0,864

VVT
1- 4,425
2- 2,304
3- 1,674
4- 1,19
5- 1
