Cheers for the info Halford! I suspected there was a good reason for nobody offering rubber extended hoses!

I can tell you from experience that the stainless braided steel on the outside does assist the Teflon in not bursting by limiting how much it expands. A failed emergency stop when one burst due to a bit of braid worn by the tyre rubbing (a legacy from the previous owner) showed me that!
The handbrake worked well, fortunately for the person in the back of the Nissan Micra looking at the business end of my front bumper close up! Cutting me up on a roundabout and then slamming on the brakes when the traffic lights changed was not a good idea that day!
I think if you retain your standard shocks to limit the droop you have, you will get away with standard brake lines on a small lift mate.

A sudden failure like that sounds terrifying!

I hate to detract from the BigJimny shop, but there are cheaper good quality hoses around. "Busta" quoted my post (
bigjimny.com/index.php/forum?view=topic&catid=6&id=57010#139707
) from a previous thread the other week, Llama 4x4 sell custom brake lines, any fitting, any length up to 1m for £15.50 inc. VAT. That beats the BigJimny shop hands down... £66, compated to £46.50!!! They are stainless, PVC coated just the same as the BigJimny ones too! I've had mine for ages, 2 years perhaps? I can't cite it properly, but I'm almost certain I heard somewhere that Llama 4x4 actually supply some of the other shops...
Call up the chap (who might be called Dave, I can't remember) and tell him you want extended jimny lnes. He knows the right lengths and fittings to use!
