£180 per year for a new Jimny. so presumably the CO2 emissions dropped a bit when VVT was introduced.
edit- Yep a 2010 model of comparable spec is £205 per year, and 10 grms per km more CO2 output.

Road tax has not gone towards the roads for years.
That's why they changed the name to Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) it allows the money to just go in the pot with all the other taxes.
