I have a soft top which u bort for shooting, the removable roof being the main reason. How ever......if I ever had to nip into the shops on the way home or down the pub after a days shooting I would not (and I'm yet to do it) be able to as anyone can pop my roof, reach in and tale my guns. Not ideal. Does anybody know of a secure roof option?
I have thought about bolting in some gun boxes in the back but then id be loosing some the little room I have in the back. Temporary storage boxes could be an option, but would depend on how quickly they can be removed, id need to trust my guns are safe in there for ay least a few hours.

Any ideas will would be great :) thanks in advance.

Oh, thought id mention when traveling with my guns they are always out of sight before any smart guys jump in ;)

A bit of an expensive fix... but, I've got a rear hard-top section on mine, and have kept the front soft-top section for throwing back now and again when we do actually get a nice day...

Makes the back as secure as possible as it has a replacement rear window glass where the zipper and press-studs were, and the soft-top may still be vunerable from a slash and grab, but that's only the same as a brick or hammer through a glass pane...?

That's a tidy bit of kit. How much was it? Iv seen some fibreglass "fastback" ones, think a guy on here makes them but unsure how secure they are. They look the nuts though. If you've got a link for where you got yours from that would be great.
Cheers.

Are you allowed to leave guns unattended in a car?

not being a smart guy shouldn't the guns be in a locked box any way? metal box in boot with locks welded/bolted to the floor?

No, you are all correct. I was a bit lax with my explanation in my original post. I dont just leave them on the back seat or anything, all my guns have a trigger lock fitted, then put in their slips and then into a bigger bag which is also locked. In my old truck I could lift up the back seat and there was empty space for me to hide things in. If I'm literally popping into a shop on the way back from a shoot to get a can of coke or something, as long as the guns are not visible in ok, any time spent longer away from the car and they are either taken with me, put into friends car (locked in boot) or I go home first and put them in the cabinet.
My post was really because the jimny has no boot to lock them away in, it has jo rear sear hidden compartments as It has no rear seats. I could just chuck a coat over them and hope nobody notices but that's just not a risk or option in willing to take. So you can all rest assured that I travel safely and securely when carrying my guns :)
