With ref to the 4wd select/un-select, are they totally useless? I ask because I was wanting to buy a fairly new Jimny and dont want to start having problems if you know what I mean.

The electric selection on my 2006 works properly.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Theres nothing wrong with the electric models. The 4wd select in both models is roughly exactly the same except of course one is lever operated and one is push button. Ive had both old and new Jimny and I say go for a new one, the DOHC VVT engine is alot better sits at 100km easily and its not as slow as the SOHC non VVT Jimnys

Good point, but after thinking about it have decided that I will go for a newish one. From not really knowing anything about the Jimny a fortnight ago, the more that I have read what you guys have written I think that the little Jimny will be ideal once I get the back seat removed for my two dogs. As Busta said the fuel savings and other running costs are ideal for me. I will just have to budget to having a winch fitted and some all terrain tyres and I reckon that'll do. I just love seeing them on youtube. Cheers Holdsy
