98-02 16v SOHC G13? manual transfer
98-05 16v SOHC G13? manual transfer (Soft top)
02-05 16v DOHC M13A manual transfer
05-> 16v DOHC VVT M13AA? electric transfer

That's correct, its the same block.
The M13A was available from at least 2000 and the early engine was the G13BB.
Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Hi Busta,
With ref to the 4wd select/un-select, are they totally useless? I ask because I was wanting to buy a fairly new Jimny and dont want to start having problems if you know what I mean.

Why don't you get an older one to see if you get on with it, if you don't like it you can pass it on and not lose to much money and if you love it you could get a newer one
