The other advantage of manual hubs is you can leave them unlocked and select 4L which gives you 2L for reversing trailers etc, saves slipping the clutch.

buy manual switch them on and forget they are there I don't notice a slight difference in mpg with or with out them locked both ways its crap and you never know when you mite see a patch on mud

TBH my old man worked for Fairey winches back in 70s when they were making FWH for Landies and internally within the buissness they new that the savings on Fuel economey was so small it was hard to quantify

Mine has fixed hubs that just bolt on like ze old SJ non manual hubs. So I cannot unlock them.

So they cannot fail.

Do I notice a difference driving it or in fuel consumption? Not at all!
