I'd just enjoy the Zuke for what it is and stick a winch on the front if you really want to go up steep stuff.

Yup, fit a Warn 8274 with an XP motor, and you're up the hill pretty fast :-)

Also, a Lockright for the rear diff is not a bad idea :-)

The 1.6 will give you more torque at the wheels than the 1.3. The more you put in the into the gearbox the more you get out, so going from a 100NM 1.3 to a 143NM 1.6 will make a big difference!
