Mounting an awning... Which side? was created by JerseyJimny
Mounting my awning this weekend but there is a big debate going on at work... Which side to mount it on?
I originally thought passenger side as its away from the snorkel and it balances the weight of the driver, also the rear door swings out towards the driver side so it will flow better at the campsite from cooking area to under the awning
However others say drivers side... As its out of danger of being dragged through bushes etc... Also less chance of trying to drive away with awning out if you have to walk under it to get in the car...
What do you guys think?
Thanks
JJ

my thinking would be drivers side that way your always be the one that can get out under shelter after you made the passenger pull it out
but then passengers side has some good advantages think if you need to go in to the back wile raining you wont have to go right round the door like you would on the drivers side

True... I will be taking the awning off when I am off roading anyway... The only time I might have the awning on while off roading is when we go to the lake district and we will be doing a day of laning while camping...

Off what I have seen around the net, It seems to be awning on right for right hand drive and on the left for Left hookers..
I prefer mine on the right to be honest.

I have noticed this too... I don't see why though? There must be some unwritten rule I am missing! Haha
