Did a run with mine, a 1998 Jimny, a few weeks ago to see how far i would get on a tankfull, made it to 428km (266 miles) until dead. So if tank is as stated per the specs, 40 litres then i got 9.34 Litres/ 100Kms (30.244 mpg), this was all urban driving, I would think with very, very conservative driving you could get some more.

In my "test" i found that when i put the 5 litres i was carrying for when the car died in the tank the fuel gauge came up and sat covering the Empty line, so you have about 1.1 gallons after the empty line, hopefully enough to get you to a petrol station.

Just filled my tank for the first time after first full tank to gauge mpg 221.4 miles and back up to same level took
35.19 ltrs which works out at 28.56 mpg which is mostly short journeys of 5.2 miles and 1 run of 30 miles. A few hills where we live and running 215/75 x15 BFG All Terrain tyres.

I am also getting less than 30mpg. Going to Norfolk next week so it will be interesting to see what I get for the trip.
My wife has a Micra used locally and never gets more than 34mpg. I get 50 out of it on a run. My daughter has an i10 and was very disappointed with the mpg she uses it for 10 mile trips to work and only gets 35mpg.
