If it's a standard car then it needs a full service and an Italian tune up aka a good long thrashing on a motorway run.I periodically do this to both mine and even the auto gets well over 250 miles on a tank of fuel.

I was suffering from high fuel consumption, then after checking everything found that a front caliper was sticking. Changed the caliper and consumption has gone from 85 miles on £20 worth to 110 miles on £20 worth

Caliper is the first i would check. My car has been alot better after I ran it like hell through some under sea tunnels we got here, pretty steep roads and 4000rpm for a while in 3rd gear
