I ended up re-using the male unions, as the threads go right to the end on the originals, and the replacement ones are longer, they have about 3mm unthreaded, and won't fit the unions.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Male unions are available with and without the 3mm unthreaded end. I assume for what you have said I require the shorter full threaded type?

Not to put too fine a point on it but messing about with brake lines if you do not know what you are doing seems to me to be a disaster waiting to happen. You can buy ready made pipes of the correct length and unions already fitted. They have to be bent to shape to fit, are a little bit more expensive than making them but by the time you buy the tools to do that they could turn out to be the most cost effective. I would recommend not splitting a length run up and change it from connector to connector as per manufacturers design. The least number of breaks in a run the better. Safety is paramount at the end of the day.

Thanks Michael for the concern but I know exactly what I am doing and have all the correct tools for the job, Pipe Cutter, Flarer and Bender as I have done this before!

What I don't have is all the materials hence the questions.

Now I know for certain someone on here will have done this job before as the standard steel lines are crap so before I go removing all the lines I want to have the correct components on hand to make the replacement lines which will be ran right from the master cylinder following the original layout just using Copper Nickel Pipe and new fittings.

Nowt worse than starting a job to find your missing something and the car is unusable to get to the motor factors!

I will simply buy a decent selection of male and female M10x1 unions etc and 50ft of pipe to get the job done.

I did the two long front to back pipes 6 months ago, the worst part is feeding them round the fuel tank at the back and removing the old unions which were very rusted on. I ended up cutting the lines and hammering a socket on to them to get them out, that was after soaking them in diesel for a few days. As regards to unions i went to my local suzuki main dealer and asked which unions i required, 30 seconds later the parts guy returned with a hand full of unions that i could have for free (all were new). ;)
