What do you guys and girls think about lockers?
I'm of the opinion they are great if you truly don't want to get stuck anywhere or want to do competion, but they are kinda ott for play off roading.
Half the fun in my eyes is the challenge of getting up, over, round and through obstacles and getting stuck
If i never wanted to fail i'd buy a tank haha.
I knows this is going to be contentious so lets hear your views

For me the Lockrite is the most cheapest and most effective single mod you can make ... the difference offoad is just amazing!
As for on-road, you :
* learn to ignore the occasional LOUD bang, as the lockrite undoes itself
* learn to understand that with both rear wheels continually at the same time comes to bends and roundabouts you have to go steady (until you get used to it) with the right pedal
* when almost stuck, go easy with the right pedal, as misuse will cause more traction, and if you are pointing 'not-straight' then once traction engages - you go in that direction!
Get a Lockrite, you know it makes sense.
Traction is King

Rich, oh YES you can do that and more with a locker... i love two-wheel sliding too
And honest, pound for pound and serviceability, the locker is an awesome mod. Of course if you have cash then ARB (or KAM if they ever get around to it) is the way forward.
Do you know anyone with a Lockrite in their Jimny, if you do, get a drive of it - you'll be converted!

I've steered away from a locker as I like the challenge from not having one, but sometimes on a rocky lane where you get cross axled it might be less anti social to use a locker rather than momentum and there's not always something to winch off.
So if I were to get one it would be an ARB. It's an expensive mod though, so then the lockrite comes into play, but then you lose the choice.
Depends on your circumstances and wants/needs I suppose.

Im going to get a rear locker once the gearings sorted, if you were to get a ARB or Kam they give you the choose to turn the lockers on and off, so you can still have the challenge then when you do get stuck just locker up and off you go ! Think they would save you on mechanical abuse aswell the amounts of time ive had to hit an cross axle that bit faster to clear it, with a locker could crawl accross it !

I love the Lockright
Less stress on the rest of the drive train, less speed required as less momentum is needed. So less CV breakages.
On road is fine, doesn't bother me, if you can live with a jimny then you can put up with a lockright!
I can still get stuck with a locker, rocklobster and special tracks if I try hard enough or go stupid crossing deep ruts.
