Mine doesn't look pretty but has quite a few thousand pounds spent on it and I'm sure we can all tell tales.

The only thing that's stopping me is my other car needing a few bits a pieces as well

What you actualy need is different to what is recommended.

I can't speak for a 3" lift, but for 2" you don't "need" any form of castor correction, and you don't need extended brake hoses if the anti-roll bar is still on.

I drove a 3" lift for years with no castor correction and got by, but I was aware of the light steering and that it wasn't right. Now I have castor correction I wouldn't go back, but if I got by for years I'm sure you could get by for a few months whilst saving to do things bit by bit. However, an ORA kit is far more complete and economical in the long run. So if you can exercise some patience and save, unlike I did, you'll end up with a much better Jimny as a consequence.

Oh and from my experiences don't mess about with standard rubber bushes, go straight for Super Pro. They do flex ok and their fitting is sooooo much easier and involves lots less swear words!
