twin i think - its deffo an M13A engine in a 52 plate hard top. Its done just over 110k at the mo - so im guessing natural failure as a cause

I don't know how much you'd be charged but markyp2000 is in the garage game.

What are you're symptoms? Are you sure it's the head gasket?

If so, I think it's an all alloy head and block so don't leave it till it overheats!

Its had a new thermostat and rad cap 3 weeks ago and continues to over heat - running with the heaters on full bore keeps it within the normal range. Normal garage suggested head gasket when i told them its still happening after they changed the thermostat and the cap, but i got a second opinion from the local main stealer - told them the symptoms and the said head gasket straight away. Local garage hasnt done one on a jimny before and it took 4 attempts to get the right thermostat - it was in for nearly 3 days, so ive bitten the bullet and booked it in with zuki - at least they will have the right bits in stock, plus they'll price it up as complete job before undertaking it, whereas the local garage (although very good) can only give ball park figures. I havent got the time or knowledge to do it myself, plus cant afford to have it off the road sat waiting for parts like before
