The intake piping is just above the driver side wheel arch liner and comes out behind the headlight its not that well sealed so water will get in around the joints, i think mid way up the front bumper would be deep enough for a standard jimny, just incase any water splashes into the engine bay and gets sucked in.

air intake is just behind the drivers headlight, through the inner wing.

thanks guys , just wanted to know as thinking of going laning on sunday around south hams and there is a few flooded lanes about at the moment:laugh:   is it a good idea to seal all the standard joints just until i can afford a snorkel ? im thinking snorkel just because i have spent many hours on youtube and seen the water coming over the bonnet when on a downward slope going into a hole full of water.

thanks for the replys

On a standard jimny I have been over the bonnet with the water laping up to the front screen.
BUT I had to change the gearbox tbox and axle oils. water mark came up 3/4 up the door on the side of the doors and the water at the front was from the bow wave which stayed just under the front screen.
And I was driving up a river at the time   Jimny = unstoppable :woohoo:
This was a test to see if it could do it if I had to with no mods. I would not advise it tho.
