I have used most types at sometime or other as i am truck driver by trade.
Garmin have been around the longest i believe, so probley the most sorted.
They started years ago, before satnavs making fish finders and the such for the fishing industry.

So would you say the Garmin is better than Tomtom?

I prefer the Garmin for performance (ease of use/routing/re-routing for diversions etc)
The mapping on screen is very simple, almost cartoon like so not as detailed as some but
i dont drive along watching it as i trust the spoken instructions.
Also the simplified mapping is less confusing at a junction if you are not sure of the instruction. :laugh:
For the last few years, the option of adding the road name in the instruction is very helpful if in town with
a lot of side roads. It removes the problem of the driver asking himself, what sodding left, 1st or 2nd one!

Looked at Halfords. Was £10 cheaper at Currys then had a 10% voucher too. :woohoo:
So far I am loving it but I need a collect item from eBay to really put it to the test. :laugh: :laugh:
