Both my headlight lenses are a mess. 2008 JIMNY 1.3 The "crazing" covers the whole lens (left and right). All I can find to buy is the whole unit. Pair £204.29 on ebay. Is it possible to buy just the lens?

No but it is possible to renovate the plastic. There's a few threads on here. It a matter of using a fine fine cutting compound to lift the surface abrasion.

message J999pre, he will doubtless have a spare headlight unit for sale ;-)

Lambert - crazing is the actual plastic has cracked from expansion & contraction or impact over the years, no amount of polish will help that

You can get renovation kits in Halfords they do a fairly good job.

If you're skint you could try some very VERY fine wet and dry paper with water, then follow it up with a soft cloth and Brasso or T-Cut. Followed by Acrylic polish such as Greygates plastic polish.

Also look for Micromesh kits on eBay - these aren't cheap but we use them on aircraft canopies to remove scratches and they're excellent

IF IT AINT BROKE, KEEP FIXING IT UNTIL IT IS

Toothpaste is a very fine, mild polish. Takes a while, but with time and elbow grease, you can get a fine polish. Used this on a fair bit of surfaces. That said, it needs to be a toothpaste with beads in it, not one of those environmentally friendly types.

I gave mine a polish using a buffing machine and t-cut. I was amazed at how well it buffed out all the years of offroading scratches leaving an amazing finish..
Polished all the scratches out of the door mirror frames, all the roof rails, and polished up a dulled headlight lens in seconds...

Wet sand from 500grit, 1000 and 2000. Coarse rubbing and polish at the end

If they won't renovate look for a good used one in scrapyards or eBay ;)
