Yup, we've been out and about once again, and here's the blog -
www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/greenlaning-in.../02/16/blog_335.html
Some awesome drone footage from Gary (We know drone flying is as contentious as green laning, but our-Gary (FunkyJimny) is an ICARUS qualified pilot with Permission for Aerial Work issued by the CAA), and loads of videos from Brett (Maverick) too... and far too many photos from me, and even more from Colin and the other Dave-T.
Enjoy!

We do advertise spare spaces on here from time to time if we're short of the maximum five vehicles from "our little group"

Thanks Dan' !
Nice to get a positive comment... I thought that was one of our best blogs we've ever done... what with the photos mixed with Brett's videos and Gary's drone filming...
... and it gets a paltry two comments on this, the premier Jimny forum...
I'm on the point of not bothering linking them from here...!
Five Jimnys out doing some spectacular 'lanes, and no comments or "likes"... no wonder people are leaving forums in favour of Facebook
[/rantover]

That's they way it is Dave, facebook is the future
That said, this is one of the few forums that still manages to keep going.

I love the blogs as well
The issue with facebook for me is the un-structure stream of information. It is on your screen for a few seconds and then scrolls off the bottom. There is no conversation that runs much longer than 24hours.
And, of course, this forum automatically feeds Facebook and Twitter. - FB: BigJimny4x4 and @BigJimny - so you can see when new threads are opened. It also supports Tapatalk.
The main part of the website is a multi-user blog system so people can even write articles/blog to the front pages of the site.

Yes, it can be a bit chaotic at times, but there's no denying its popularity and subsequent impact on a lot of forum-based groups (this one excluded). You now have the ability to search within facebook groups, which makes accessing info a lot easier. It's very fast moving though.

Keep the blogs going Dave, ive read every one of them on your own site.
As for Facebook I will never be a member, but as you say it has killed a lot of forums, which imo does not say much about the members of those forums
