Today I mostly painted my nuts. Kinda, I actually replaced the rack hardware with stainless bolts and acorn nuts instead of the bzp ones that were going to rust. I did also paint them black as part of the continuing murdering out process.

It seems that I have done myself a favour at some point in the past. Had a bad tre on the drag link so have replaced with new. The good luck is that I seem to have had it apart at some point and applied antisieze so the whole lot was just as smooth as a very smooth thing. Jobs a peach!

That's a good feeling when you think a job is going to be a pain but it isn't!

We need photos of this murdering out process!

Following on from our nice drive around the farmers field yesterday, today I found the limit of the summer tyres we have fitted!!!
50 meter from this spot a substantial snow drift, lack to lateral grip, a large drop to the left with a general loss of the road resulted in a "back down" the hill retreat (they are our up/down tracks, no other vehicles seen). To be fair our Jimnys a road Princess and the summer tyres did better than I expected.
Plan to get All Season (with snow) fitted, but the ones fitted refuse to wear out and I am too tight to throw them away with tread left. Scotland, the natural home of the Jimny.
