Well the part finally turned up today after nearly 3 weeks of waiting :( I have re-tapped the Diff casing thread as it looks like there is enough metal to form a decent thread. As you can see from the picture, the new adapter also has considerably more thread!

A while ago I replaced the exhaust on "LittleJimny". Since then I have had great difficulty in getting it to seal. It is a sprung loaded flexible joint so should be a "dry" seal with no sealant or gasket, just a stainless steel mesh ring.
