I hope to crack on during my next days off - I need to take it all apart as I've not greased or threadlocked anything as been taking it apart + putting it back together again a few times and will take some piccies to add to those you've got/been sent.
A fabricator friend is going to make a puller type tool for getting new bearings and retainers on shafts for me as I had been considering a press like Martin has - but I have access to a 10 ton bench press which I can press front bearings in and out on and radius arm bushes in with, so if this works ok I'll not need the floor standing press I was considering.
Once I've done the rear disc conversion and it's easier to get the rear shafts out I plan to relace the rear bearings regularly to prevent them from failing.
I plan to take the Jimny through more watery mud at our club in the future and it will eat bearings!

you dont need a press for rear wheel bearing
angle grinder to remove old ones & a lenth of scaffold tube & a bfh to fit new ones
i like the idea of rear discs & if it makes removing rear shafts easyer thats a big bonus cus its a pain in the butt with the drums
