That's interesting. And I assume it's not possible to adapt to a different type either eg the control system is specific too?

Hello @LoveJimny2004
Good advice from the experts above.
One small point I would add: failure of a wheel speed sensor will also cause the ABS light to come on. These sensors can fail from a sudden sharp jolt.
Diagnosis is typically by looking at real-time data from the wheel speed sensors, i.e. individual wheel speeds while the car is in motion. Your mechanic may have already done this test, but if not, it may be worth getting a second opinion. Wheel sensors are cheap and plentiful, compared to ABS pumps.
Sometimes, simply reading off the error codes from the computer can be misleading. it may be worthwhile to double-check the diagnosis before splashing out. (I don't believe that individual wheel speed can be read with a simple OBD reader, so you may need to find a garage with a Suzuki reader or aftermarket equivalent to get deeper into the data than an OBD reader can.)
Again, your mechanic may have already covered this, just mentioning the possibility.
Myself, in ~1 million miles of driving, I've replaced a lot more wheel sensors than ABS pumps -- and given the fine clearances involved, a "pothole upset" is a not-uncommon wheel speed sensor failure mode.

I would agree with Motacilla, are you sure that a sensor was not damaged?
Get someone with a Code Reader to read the fault code.
I note that this company quotes for a specific repair on the Suzuki Pump
www.ecutesting.com/product-catalogue/suz...-combined/amc081a11/
This is if it is showing "C1061 - monitoring current malfunction" in the code reader.
