That's correct, you need the entire lamp unit and any extra wiring components. Has anyone tried to fit SZ5 headlamps in an SZ4 or LCV, I wonder?

The G-Wagen style rear bumper lights are the whole unit so could theoretically be legal if E-marked, but I don't know if any are*.  Same goes for the foglight/DRL assembly, if you can find an E-marked unit that fits.

*Update: yes, at least one design is E-marked, if you fancy spending £350.

Here in Norway you cannot fit LED or Xenon HID to a car that did not come with it from new. Needs auto leveling headlights not manual.
These regulations sometimes comes from the EU and they often change.

The Osram led bulbs looks good though, their LED bars and lights have been good and they should know how to hit the focal point.

Portugal. As I see it, so far this is an international forum.

You've misread me, IPF 968 lights are H3 one filament only.

I've wired them to be on with high beam only, which is legal if lights are marked "HR" (and "E", obviously)

Are these add-on driving lights?  That's what isn't clear.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I am not sure if Portugal is the same as the UK, but in the UK unless the lights you have were originally fitted with LEDs, you can't legally fit LEDs in place of the halogen bulbs and still be road legal, it doesn't matter if they are E marked or not.

It's crazy I know, if the beam pattern is the same and the light output the same (or within limits) then why not, but that is the current UK regs.

A lot of people fit LEDs and then swap back to halogen for the road worthy test (MOT).
