Is it me or do you find that the bumpers and side trims on the Gen 4 scratch really easy? The car has an easy life but seems to attract scratches just by looking at it. I know it's a 4x4 and should take it as part of it's charactor but it's really annoying as i try to look after it.

I am afraid the answer is yes. The plastic appears to be soft and scratches and scuff marks are inevitable. There was a string a while back concerning remedies which ranged from boot polish to Mother Huffs miracle cure for rickets and piles.

Yes the side sill covers are scuffed on ours just from accidentally touching them with shoes while getting out of the vehicle.
l can't get the marks to disappear, l did consider taking them off and spraying them satin or matt black, this has worked on faded Land Rover plastic trim parts such as the front grille, and the finish lasts years.

In ten years time you won't notice. My Dreadnaught is covered in bramble rash, so much so that a respray wouldn't need any prep for a good key, has been like it since about 6 months old, it's really not the end of the world!

I feel your pain if you are trying to keep it in good order, but unfortunately it's just part of owning a new vehicle. Eventually with the passage of time the bumps and knocks will accumulate. Don't believe it's Jimny specific, as on the one new car I purchased much the same happened.
Eventually it will just look used, which it is!

A hot air gun might get the scuffs out. It works on faded plastics and light scratches. There are videos on youtube on how to do this.
