I had an issue I was hoping someone could help me with. I have the 2000 model, with a 6 pin diagnostic terminal under the glovebox, which makes it easy to check the engine light with a paperclip.
I'm now trying to look at a 2009 model, but the set up is quite different.
This seems to have a 16 pin diagnostic terminal under the steering wheel, and (though I'm not sure this is relevant, but I'm quite new to this) a 5 pin terminal on the fuse box.
Is there anyway I can use my paperclip to check the engine light on this 2009 Jimny or did they make them more complicated later on? I can attach pictures of the terminals if it helps.
I am not sure if the paperclip trick works, but any cheap ODB reader or scanner will connect and save you counting flashing lights. Ok not as cheap as a paper clip, but still £10 or less.
