Can't tell much from last year's results, everything looks ok.
Pre cat sensor under bonnet on manifold, post cat sensor is after the last cat in the exhaust, under the vehicle.
Lambert s Italian tune may well just sort this, or the same with the cleaner additive, but a thrashing anyway.
If you fit a new Lambda Denso are a very good make, cost more but you fit it once.

Thanks for the help so far.
I have just been under the Jimny. I see the little cat but no where on the pipes after it is any fitting for or any cables to a lambda sensor (post cat)
There is one on the manifold but thats it.

I am now bemused..

Prior to a test take the motor for a run to thoroughly warm the engine and clear the system. As lambert said," give it a bit of a ragging". The tester should do the emissions test first. Do not let him idle the engine for minutes on end as this will choke it up, especially on a well used example.

thanks all
ordered denso lambda sensor.. first job.. then we will see if it is the cat.. as for the welding... I am gob smacked. all it was after removing the rear wheelarch and sill trim from the offside was a hole in the outer wheel arch extension .. the sill and its ends are solid.. I have just cut the flap of rusty metal off! He said it was structural.. balls.. I have restored many classics and no way was it structural..
grrr.

I used to have an MoT inspectors ticket and modern day monocoque shells are treated in a different way to chassis's, where the chassis is considered the main structural member. Either way a fail only related to the proximity of a seat belt mounting. In my day this was 12".
