Riccy I read your install thread and got confused.
You mention bodging the water pump hose with some random pipe, but mine all went on ok.
Is this because you hadn’t yanked the metal pipe out of the pump?

Yes I did have problems until I realised the water pump housing came off and apart to swap over to the new engine. That bodged hose was put right pretty quick, but it got it going until I resolved it.
Have a look at Ulysses where I have fitted the M18, some pics and info there about the swap as well.
