Front Wheel Bearing - broken breaker bar - reverse thread nuts was created by 4x4dreckly
Hi Forum, finally got around to changing the front wheel bearing on my 52 plate O2, well that's what I thought!!!
Broke a breaker bar using the correct tool, so 2 questions please:-
1. is the drivers side wheel nut a reverse thread (UK car) - would doubt it.
2. Will heat form a blow torch on the bearing housing damage anything else on the hub assembly like seals etc...?
Thanks in advance
Mark

It's standard thread. You did undo the retaining tang didn't you?

Thanks for the confirmation re thread, do you mean tag not tang? If so yes I've released the tag on the retaining ring as shown in the picture.

So is the retaining ring seperate to the nut I.e. Release the tag then undo the ring, or is the retaining ring part of the nut??
