Thank you for making it easy to picture it, starting to get closer to understand how things works now.
My next question would be, could a center diff also be fitted to make it possible?

In a word, no. No company makes a product to fit a centre differential on a Jimny.

The only option you have for a center differential is fitting either a Landcruiser or Landover lt230 transfer case(or if you've got serious money to burn an atlas). The issue with these are they are normally bolted to the back of the gearbox as opposed to being mounted divorced (short prop shaft from the gearbox to the transfer case)
Mounting them divorced can be done but no one's done it in a Jimny to my knowledge.

I'm going for option 3......complete new axles.....no kingpins, wider front than rear and using 31" tyres to have 16" under the diff casing......and only a 2" suspension lift.....11/60 wrote: As Busta says the axle and diff are one solid unit with wheels at each end. There's 2 ways of getting more clearance, one fit much taller tyres, two fit portal reduction hubs and taller tyres.

OllieNZ:
Good day!
How much work would something like that take? Are they hard to get and are there any downsides with those center differential transfer cases compared with original? How do they adapt?
Keithy:
Welcome!
Are you going for balljoints instead?
Fitting any readily made parts or are you making/getting them custom machined?
What is the biggest benefits och going wider front?
By the way y'all. I need a clutch and I don't know what tho choose for these kind of cars.
There are two clutches for Jimny being sold in this shop, are they good for more power to?
If I suddenly decide to put a turbo in the "St. Jimny" to?
There is different woven materials, carbon and graphite mixes, powder metal and so on.
If I had the money to burn on an atlas maybe a Spec Stage 3+ like clutch with carbon semi-metallic full faced would be something, that might be overkill, and it seems like they do not make/stock Jimny clutches.
Just use the Jimny when necessary now, until I got a new clutch in place, which I hope is soon.
Good morning from Sweden! : )

I'll be going wider at the front for handling reasons....mostly cornering.
I've yet to strip the spare transfer box and see how feasible it is to make a locker fit in there.
