Lower king pin stuck. was created by mike83
As title suggest my Jimmy's lower driver side kingpins stuck pretty solid.
Anyone got any tips for removing it.
Channel grips wouldn't turn it and a little hammer and chisel work didn't shift it apart. Could have hit it a lot harder tho.
Has anyone put a bar thru from top king pin opening and smacked it out???
Would a longer bolt work like a disc brake??
Cheers people..

What have you actually got undone? Just the 4 bottom bolts and the pin is still in the swivel or everything is off apart from the bearing race?
If the latter then martin is correct with the socket to tap the race out. If the former then a big pair of stillsons for leverage and twisting the flange of the pin has always worked for me then if necessary a pry bar for the last few mm.

For anyone interested the king pins are really easy to remove if they are tight with a stillson plumbing wrench. Cheers 11\60 spot on mate and martin your a star keep it up. Imperial goodness.
Oh and I was thinking I needed the four point socket to get too the bearing but saw a very good vid on YouTube where the jap mechanic just pulled the whole thing off after undoing the tie rod and cir clip Leaving the shaft in place.
Don't be scared of doing it.. It easy if a little dirty with the sand filled grease mmmmm nice.

I put a couple of spot welds at 12 and 6'clock, then whacked it out with a small cold chisel. Worked for me.
