Spark plug hole rethreading was created by Damo666
A little while back I asked about fixing a rear engine mount and this possibly causing lumpy tickover on my other half's 2003 Jimny. Well the mount is sorted and the problem was still there. In the absence of a code reader I thought it felt like it was misfiring so I went old school and started checking the plugs....
Yep, here was the problem, pulled out the second lead/coil pack in from the front and the lead had all but disintegrated or something and was just touching the spark plug with a thin bit of wire.......easy fix, new coil pack. The BIG problem I have is the spark plug had become that loose that it has now stripped the threads in the head and in the process lost its 4 electrodes off the end of the spark plug (out the exhaust hopefully!)
Has anyone had any experience of this or of using Helicoils to repair it and if so what size am I going to need? HELP!
Thanks
Damo

Ouch! It would be easier and quicker to get a replacement head. James (j99PRE) might be able to help.

Any idea on what sort of price I'd be looking at to get it done? Wonder whether it is worth just sourcing a new head?
