Those dimensions are roughly stock, I'm looking at the lower links being something like 30" (760mm) and the upper being 27"(685mm) I still need to get out and take some proper measurements to get the numbers closer

4-link seems the best way to go I you know what you're doing and getting all calculations right.

But on some of these builds, right calculations or not. I really don't understand why some people want to go through all this work of doing a 3 or 4 link only to put cheap shocks on it. It doesn't make sense. A suspension of either of these types need som proper shocks, coilovers or airshocks perhaps.

I have no tank or exhaust in way under mine to cause any restrictions and after several days of reading the benefits between 3 and 4 that I am now more inclined to go with a 4 link as they seem to have better handling and more predictable when built properly

Thanks Rich,
I'd spotted that one, landrover axles iirc.
Would you mind elaborating(or linking a discussion) on the 3 vs 4 link, from what I've read so far a properly set up 3 link shouldn't have any issues with rear steer.......

I don't know if my budget will stretch to coil overs but I am planning on sourcing some appropriate bilstein's

What are your plans for the Jimny with this 3 or 4 link? It is just to see if it's possible or to do competitions?

No real plans, just doing what I can to optimise performance and handling with out comprimsing usability while I have it stripped down. More for the sake of it tbh but if I'm going to do it I may as well do it properly.
