Link vs Radius Arm Setup was created by OllieNZ
I'm currently drawing up a list of stuff I want to do to my jimny, one of the first things I'm looking into is the suspension setup.
I'm not happy with the front end especially, so I've been looking into alternate options.
Front:
-Longer radius arms, move the chassis mounts rearwards so the front arms can be same length as the rears
-3 link, has some major advantages (allegedly) including adjustability, lack of binding and anti dive
Rear:
-Slightly longer radius arms to correct wheel base.
-3 link, see above
-4 link, benefits the same as 3 link without having to have a panhard but more difficult to implement due to triangulation requirements

I'm currently leaning towards a 3 link front and rear but any thoughts, experience and pictures of setups would be much appreciated

One important thing. Do the math and not just by eye measure.

There are a couple of calculators for both 3 and 4 link setup on pirate4x4.

Thanks Tom,
I've already picked up a calculator from there, I need it to stop raining so I can take some real measurements but I've run some close enough hypothetical numbers and the results seem encouraging.

Wilco, it's not going to be a quick project though :)

You could also consider something like an A-frame for the rear axle. Much like the Land Rover. Seems to work pretty well.
