Its 2002 hard top jimny 1.3 litre.
I will take a photo of the engine in an hour or two. I live in Halifax.

Panic not. I now have a code reader so we should be able to get to the bottom of this late thisafternoon. It will be fine. Don't worry.

Code read, egr valve cleaned, normality returned. For now. Thanks for all the input on probable causes.
