Evening all. :)
Thinking of removing my Anti-Roll bar to gain more flex. B)
How do things stand for MOT / insurance etc?

For the mot it should be fitted as it is a standard fitment, in reality it depends how well you know your mot tester, lol :)
As for insurance you are supposed to tell them about any modifications from standard, as obviously we all do !!
Jimny bits do a quick disconnect kit for them as well, if you want to keep everyone happy :) :)

Busta's got the best idea of removing 1 droplink ,quick and easy and the arb is still there.

The Jimnybits Arb is rock hard as it has in effect been strengthened.

Cheers Grego.
5 minutes with 2 14mm spanners gets the drivers side drop link off. Chuck it in the jack well in the boot until MOT time. That's how I've been running mine for a couple of years now.

It's a MOT fail if you remove it completely. You take a chance whether the MOT tester notices it.

The ARB disconnect uses 2 bolts so doesn't offer any extra convenience over removing a drop link.

But 1066boy, weren't you worried about stability going down steep banks? Disabling the ARB will cancel out the stability your stiff springs gives you!

True but doing a trial at the weekend. I know the site well and it will be more tight and twisty than anything. ;)
The back is fine but would like to gain a little at the front.

I've not had an ARB on my Jimny ever since i bought it (2005) and it got MOT'd every year without the ARB -- providing you remove EVERYTHING that looks like it was connected to the ARB.

Then last year, I bought the JimnyBits ARB mod - top notch engineering. Allows you to "be like" without an ARB when Off-roading and when "on tarmac" have it connected.
