I have them on Range Rover and diffs ground out now at play sites so I don't really want to go smaller as I still want to be able to go through the stuff I've done in rangie
Thanks

Learn to drive the Jimny as it's meant. It's a small vehicle which is it's force in many ways. You can't expect it to perform on big tyres like a RR/Defender and what not. If that's your goal you might as well just stick with the RR.

Also bigger tyres are much heavier to spin. And in the mud you need to keep the tyres clean which is harder to do with those big tyres on an underpowered car like the jimny.

I'm going to go with rock lobster,

I've always fancied a jimny because they're smaller, I love Range Rover and I do pretty well in it but it's massive and long cough cough...

I want the jimny to compete against winch challenge stuff on 35+ tyres

In the long run it'll end up on Landrover or Toyota axles etc so will be in same ruts in the end

Get the Toyota axles in the first place to save spending money on the Jimny axles you're going to change anyway.

That's what I would do.

Cheers

I you want to run big tyres, get a big truck.
Drive the Jimny as it is. A small vehicle. I Use my Jimny mainly for winch comp on 30" tyres. And we do rather well against mostly Patrols and Landcruisers on 35-37" tyres. It's not the tyres size that makes you win no matter what vehicle you drive.

One of the benefits of a Suzuki is that the diffs are small so they don't cause you to ground out on them as much so you don't need as big tyres as Land Rovers etc.

For this reason I have not changed axles. I don't have the money to upgrade the internals of my axles and rarely use my Jimny in situations where I could break it.

Nonetheless, if I were to do winch challenges, I would stick to Suzuki axles and uprate their internals rather than change to bigger axles for this reason.

The only negative to Jimny axles even when uprated is the seals on the swivels not being water tight. Samurai axles start to make sense but need all the spring seats and radius arm mounts added in exactly the right places.
