Modern tyres on cars run higher pressures around 30 psi
The Jimny was designed in the 1990's when tyres contributed to the suspension and absorbed some of the road shocks.
The recommended official Suzuki tyre pressures are 23 front 26 rear (1.6/1.8 bar) and the rear can be increased for a full load .
That means 2 people and all the luggage you can get in the back.
In reality just leave them at that. I don't even increase the rear when towing my caravan.
Reset them to those pressures and then see if some of your problems disappear. ;)
There should be a sticker inside the drivers door edge.
29 psi is far too high and you will have less grip and a harsher ride.
Over time the centre of your tyres will wear as they will not be sitting flat on the road.

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

Thanks gilburton I'll get that sorted.

No, break lines were a failure in 2014 and where I was under the impression they had been entirely replaced (buy another garage ... Long story) it turn out they only replaced underneath the car and not the bit in the engine bay. Handy eh?!
