Anyone else notice the upgraded kingpins in the catalogue?
I wonder what effect they have. If it's on death-wobble I'd be keen on getting a few imported.

Never noticed them first time round. Looks like you can pre-load them, negating the need to shim. Not sure how they hold the preload tho, looks a bit difficult to get a spanner in about due to the cap bolts.
I translated the Japanese with google tho:
Kingpin-preload system (adjustable kingpin)
1020-01
ÃÂ¥ 16,000
(Excluding tax price)
When the road surface irregularities and braking, vibration and vibration of the steering wheel at a constant speed range,
It is a symptom that can occur in a car rigid axle structure. These, steering Ja
The kingpin, shimming is one of the troubleshooting called Dar and shimmy take
It is a system that performs in the wrench. Turn the adjustment bolt, appropriate and subtle tightening
Give me you can set the condition.
(Utility model patent application 2010-193)
ãÂÂspecificationãÂÂ
Pre-load pin: SCM435 chrome molybdenum steel + vacuum hardening HRC38~43
King pin base / lock nut: S35C
Finish Hair: Yu Nikuro over Mumekki
ãÂÂCautionãÂÂ
* Mounting and adjustment, please ask the pro shop. Although the tightening torque of each section are listed in the attached diagram
Installation instructions are not included.
* This product we use to measure if the cause of the trouble has been identified as the kingpin. Judder and shimmy
Other as a cause, wheel balance, tire wear, there is a case of brake rotor wear, etc., and in situ
If you will need to be adjusted to suit each

Ok,
So I've been looking into achieving the same look as the AIPO on a pre 2013 jimny and don't think the front grille and bonnet can be added without replacing the wings as well.
I have no evidence that 2013 version wings will fit (without some obvious modification to mounts) to a 2007 body frame (which is what my jimny is). I know this is quite an expensive solution to a problem that doesn't really need solving, but I think, in the long run, it's cheaper than me buying a new jimny and it will give it a fresher look. What's everyone's thoughts on this, does anyone think it's possible? Surely the body frame of the >2013 version is nigh identical? Sorry for the daft questions, I just like to run ideas out loud before committing to any financial or physical labour activities to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid. :side:

Buy the grille and get a bodyshop to modify your existing bonnet?

I found an interesting thread with some good pics that show a direct comparison between models by zukenutter

I think the cost involved with getting the panels required would probably be too high unless you came across a cheap donor car that wasn't in a front end crash, but quite possible if the A pillar measurement allowed fitment.
