10 points to facade well doneb :woohoo:
Glad it's sorted welcome to the forum
Don't drive it in 4 wheel drive unless you really need it, it's not a permanent 4wd drive car

There should be some instructions on the drivers sun visor.
Driving on tarmac = lever all the way forward = 2wd
Driving on a very slippery surface = pull lever back (don't press, it hits a stop) = 4wd. You can do this at upto 60mph (in someone else's car
) provided that the steering is straight, and you lift off the throttle to stop any wheelspin, but it is best to press the clutch like you are changing gear to give the expensive parts of the transmission an easier time.
Trying to drive up or down a slippery mountain, or through thick cloying mud (not recommended in your own car, go round it) = stop, foot on clutch, push lever down to go through the gate, and pull back all the way = 4wd low.
To return to 4wd high, stop, foot on clutch and push lever forwards back through gate to 4wd high, or 2wd.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

My partner's new car. I was told to push the lever down, but I've just discovered that that is only to lock the diffs or 'AL'
