No you won't see any real-world difference with a K&N filter. 'Gains' are either placebo or because people are replacing an old dirty filter with a new one.

Heres a pic that Ive just taken. Its not on the fuel light yet.

On start up/running the engine does sound like its 'breathing' alot (air sound/drawn.

80mph @ 4,100rpm. Noisy but its not in 4th or having to drop a gear or strained.

Replied by Daniel30 on topic K&N air filter- does it make a difference?

Halford wrote: Hi Dan,
took it out at last service as mpg had dropped and it felt like there was an "acceleration stutter" - but that could have just been noise,
and we all know that VVT = very very thirsty so no matter what you do, the mpg is rubbish, so will pop it back in and report back.
;)

Yeah let us know what you think Halford ;)

I still have half an exhaust it sounds great reminds me of a v8 think I might leave it and add the k+n aswell :woohoo: :silly: :woohoo:

Not a fan of them. They don't tend to be that good at filtering the really fine particles of dirt. See a lot fitted to bikes with no real gain. It's a messy job cleaning them too.
They have a habit of clogging the Hot film mass air sensors on some cars from the oil vapour that comes off them even from a factory fresh out of the bag one which is why I haven't got one in the BM.

If in doubt ...... Flat out ??

Heres a pic/'proof' that wouldn't load last night..

When the fuel light comes on- roughly how long do you have left? Say 2-3litres? (20miles?)
