Great next day service and very helpful. Infact it's the same company as your Ebay link.
They look great on the Jimny!

This is the link to the wheel itself:

Well if I bought those I would have expected bevelled nuts to be used and would have had them sent back STAT. I would not expect to have to ask if they need weird non standard lug nuts before purchase. It strikes me that something is amiss with the items description but hey, who knows these days. I think the last time I saw flat nuts personally was in the ark or an old old trailer I had.

I feel so dumb for all this. Oh well - learning a lot as I go!

Hopefully they'll turn out fine in the end, although he didn't seem convinced.

Not at all, wheels are a nightmare!
I was going to mention this earlier but thought better of it as I thought you had looked closely anyway.
In my early days of Suzukis I had an LJ80 and I bought wide wheels for it. I later used them on early Vitaras. The wheels for the LJ80 appeared flat unlike some of the more modern steelies that tend to have a raised area where the nut goes. The taper on the flat wheels is very minimal but it is there and if that's the case you will be fine.
The wheels for the LJ had a hole in them to poke at the brake adjuster through.
Here is the LJ with "flat" wheels.
